30 years ago, France launched the European Week for Sustainable Development (EWSSD). with the aim of promoting sustainable development, making as many people as possible aware of the issues involved and facilitating concrete, effective action.
Today, it meets the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, the SDGs. To mark the occasion, a number of initiatives have been launched to promote sustainable development. sustainable development are being organised across Europe from 18 September to 08 October 2023.
September will be a busy month for sustainable development, with the SEDD, European Mobility Week, Air Quality Day and transport issues. Cycling will play a key role again this year.
It will also be an opportunity to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the adoption of the 2030 Agenda by the UNon 25 September. So many opportunities to share concrete and useful actions for a sustainable and shared future, on a national and international scale!
The French Ministry for Ecological Transition is encouraging everyone - citizens, associations, local authorities and businesses - to get involved in showing the world. Through innovative and varied projects, we can all play an active role in helping to achieve the 17 SDGs.
