Happy New Year 2017! You don't have to be a polar bear to cycle in winter!

Merry christmas paris bike tour

Because we want to keep you in good health in this new year 2017, Paris Bike Tour has put together an inventory of bike accessories to get you through the 37° season without handkerchiefs or Dolirhume. Because, yes, all you need is the right equipment to beat the cold, the damp and the wind, which can turn icy once you're in the saddle!

There's no need to look like a cosmonaut. You can keep your everyday outfit. Just cover it up. Motorcyclists and scooters do it well, so why not happy cyclists? The comparison stops there, because the cyclist's outfit is much less cumbersome. On a bike, a simple pair of overshoes and rainlegs will keep your toes and joints dry and warm. The rainlegs in particular are padded at the knees.

Avoid your nice thick jumper for long distances. If you're too warm, you risk having the opposite effect and... catching a cold from sweating! One or two thin layers of merino wool covering the stomach and kidneys are perfect under your usual coat. If you're feeling the cold, you can opt for a heating jacket. When you get to your destination, roll them up and they'll fit into a little bag with overshoes and rainlegs for your next getaway.

Rather than an awkward scarf when cycling, the neckerchief is much more practical. Don't hesitate to take two, as they can be transformed into a bonnet when the weather turns cold. earmuffs is no longer enough. Practical: no need to adjust your helmet to the new thickness!

Don't forget your gloves !!! On a bike, the hands are the first to ring the retirement bell in winter.

You should also bear in mind that your toddler is more vulnerable if he's wedged in his seat. If he's sitting in front of you, there are windscreen  to protect it from colds.

Finally, for a touch of originality, try the roofbi at the Boutique des Inventions in Village St Paul and... tell us what you think!

The whole Paris Bike Tour team wishes you a great winter of cycling and an excellent 2017!
