Olympic Games 2024, Paris, cycling, Hidalgo, ...and the Paris Bike Tour!

Paris Bike Tour took part in the Olympic Days to give a bike to various athletes and to Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of the City of Light, and pro bicycle!

On 23 and 24 June, Paris was transformed into a huge playground to celebrate Olympic Days and promote its bid for the 2024 Olympic Games.

For the occasion, sports zones were set up in the heart of the capital: BMX Freestyle show between the Grand and Petit Palais, introduction to archery, golf, and tennis matches at Les Invalides were a delight for all. Most impressive of all were the facilities on the Pont Alexandre III. A floating athletics track was set up on the Seine, while two diving boards (15 and 17 metres high) overlooked it, offering marvellous views of the jumps made by the many athletes.

In all, more than thirty Olympic and Paralympic disciplines were on show for visitors to enjoy over the two days.

On Saturday morning, part of the Paris Bike Tour team headed to the Place de l'Etoile to watch young and old racing around the Arc de Triomphe, which was transformed into a giant velodrome. Everyone could get on their bikes and enjoy this safe, traffic-free area.

Paris Bike Tour took part in the event by making some of its bicycles available to those who wanted to experience this unique event.

We were able to catch a glimpse of former Olympic champions such as Emmeline Ndongue, European basketball champion in 2009, and Thierry Omeyer, one of the most successful French handball players in history.

We even had the pleasure of seeing Madame Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris, and Tony Estanguet, co-president of Paris' bid for the 2024 Olympics and former Olympic canoe kayak champion, at the controls of our bikes!

As we await the election of the host city for the 2024 Olympics in September, come and enjoy the City of Light this summer for all your sporting activities!

We're open 7 days a week so you can enjoy our elegant, comfortable bicycles, or E-Bikes (electric bikes), for hire or during an unusual guided tour of Paris! Because combining sport and culture, That's what the 2024 Olympics are all about, and that's also the ambition of the Paris Bike Tour!
