Everyone to the Bastille!

«Has Paris seen a lot of destruction as a result of war?» is a question our guides often hear on our cycle tours.

It is the incredible historical and delicious mille-feuille of Paris which appeals to our visitors, whether foreigners, Parisians or people from the Ile-de-France region.

Follow the guide to find out more, and for the 2016 European Heritage Days... come to the Bastille!

After all, it is the Parisians themselves who have caused the most destruction over the last two centuries. Starting with the French Revolution! Paris was sacked.

But over two hundred years ago, they had come to understand that they were pillaging the collective good ; Today, the destruction of the treasures of Palmyra is considered a global loss.

Since the French Revolution, cultural heritage has even gone international.

So this weekend of 17 and 18 September, don't miss the European Heritage Days event. This year's theme is« Heritage and citizenship »This «national or local citizen" approach can sound like a gentle form of withdrawal. »We're «going through» a «period».

It's a shame to reduce this wonderful annual treat to current events.

Because it's only when it's set up as a universal and timeless law, that our heritage is an emblem of citizenship.

The Bastille is no longer open, so we're going to have a hard time rushing there. On the other hand, thousands of other monuments are open. Rather than heritage fast food, let's get on our feet or our bikes and let's simply savour the Parisian mille-feuille on offer.
